PhD Student
I grew up in Central-Western Wisconsin. I graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. In the interim between undergrad and grad school, I worked as a technician in two labs at UMN studying functional genomics and later structural virology. I am a PhD student in the Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology & Genetics PhD program. As a scientist, I hope to build a career developing gene therapies for clinical translation.
Research in the lab: I have two main projects that I have started. My primary project will be working to develop and clone a new oncolytic adenoviral (OAd) vector for treating breast cancer. I also have a side project where I am investigating the role of the Adenovirus Death Protein (ADP) in OAd virotherapy, particularly focusing on how ADP expression affects expression of therapeutic transgenes loaded into our OAd vectors.
